An edition devoted to sport
The 14th FIC Gáldar runs from 10 to 17 October 2026 in Gáldar, northern Gran Canaria. Sport is this edition’s chosen theme, with a retrospective alongside the official film selection. The practical point for visitors: these screenings at Centro Cultural Guaires are free, subject to capacity.
Dates to help you choose
Screenings start on Saturday 10 October. A discussion on audiovisual careers takes place on the 13th, a Cinedfest short-film workshop on the 14th and an acting workshop with Antonio Pagudo on the 15th. The announcement checked does not give their times or workshop registration conditions. The programme download link does not yet provide a file; confirm those details on the festival website before travelling.
You can take part behind the camera too
Gáldar Rueda accepts registrations until 12 October and challenges participants to make a short film in 72 hours; the theme is announced on the 14th. Read the organiser’s rules if you want to enter. These events are in Gáldar, not Las Palmas. QEDA does not organise the festival: our community starts in Las Palmas, where you can create a profile and use QEDA free forever.
