A new programme for the neighbourhood
Guanarteme’s Fiestas del Pilar are scheduled from 30 September to 12 October 2026. The City Council confirms Baby Solano’s opening address for today, 30 September, at 20:00 as part of the opening day. If you fancy heading out over the coming days, the programme offers several ways to explore the neighbourhood. You don’t need to fit everything in.
Dates to save
The XXI Festival Folclórico de las Comunidades takes place on Thursday 1 October. Beforehand, the groups will parade from Calle Pelayo to Auditorio Alfredo Kraus along Avenida de Las Canteras. The 21st Encuentro de Papagüevos follows on Sunday 4. On Sunday 11, the romería, a traditional procession, leaves Calle Pavía at 18:00 and makes its way through the neighbourhood to Plaza del Pilar. All times are Canary Islands local time.
Before arranging to meet
The council announcement does not give times for the parade on 1 October or the gathering on 4 October, or full admission conditions. Check with the Comisión de Fiestas del Pilar before setting off; we are not assuming every event is free. Our suggestion: choose one activity and agree on an easy-to-find meeting point, leaving time to chat beforehand. QEDA does not organise these festivities.
